Merry Patterns and Woodland Embossing Folder

Stampin Up Merry PatternsIs this just not the cutest card ever? When I googled the name of the stamp set, I saw this design from Sue Prather. and immediately knew I had to try it. It is very simple.

Stamp the deer twice, once in soft suede, and the second time in real red ink. Fussy cut the deer out, then cut just the sweater from the second deer, and adhere the red sweater over top of the body of the soft suede deer.

Use the Woodland Embossing Folder, and ink up the folder on the side, where the impressions are indented. then put a piece of 5″ x 3-3/4″  white cardstock inside the folder and run through the big shot. Next, mask the left side of the trees with post it notes, or paper, and use a sponge or dauber and lightly rub smoky slate ink down the side of the trees. Next once again masking over top of your tree, randomly position pine leaves using garden green ink. Use your black stampin’ write marker, to fill in the indents of the tree.

Use an exacto knife to very carefully cut a slit on both sides of a tree, then slide the deer through. I adhered this sheet to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ soft suede, and the main card was done using real red. For the greeting, I just used the layering ovals framelits and dimensionals to adhere to front of card.
