I am still determined that I am going to go through all my stamp sets, and make sure I have cards made from every single one of them. I am taking a break from the Occasions Catalogue today, just because I feel like I don’t want to ignore the 2017-2018 Idea Book & Catalogue. There are such great stamps in both, and no matter which one you purchase from, spend $60.00 and you still get a FREE sale-a-bration reward.
Todays card, done with High Tide Stamp set, was all done in Night of Navy ink. It was a 2 step process. The narrow strip down the center is 2″ wide piece of Whisper White Cardstock. All I did was stamp what I wanted to show up on this strip. I stamped on it, in 2 different ways. I would ink up the stamp, and then go directly to the 2′ strip, and sometimes, I inked up stamp set, then stamped on a scrap piece, and then stamped onto the 2″ strip.
Next step was to continue the design onto the rest of the Card. The other piece is a 5-1/4″ x 4″ also Whisper White Cardstock. To complete this step, I first cut a piece of 2″ wide vellum, (because I could see through it).I then put just a small piece of tape on back of strip, and lined up in center of card. Then using stamp-a-ma-jig, I lined up the scenery. If I stamped it directly onto the 2″ wide strip, then I “stamped off” for the continuation of the scenery. If I “stamped off” on the center strip, then I stamped directly onto the continuation.
The background main card is also Night Of Navy. I really liked the way it turned out. I think I am going to do it again, but next time use 2 different colours. Perhaps Crumb Cake, or Sahara Sand and perhaps Pacific Point maybe? Will have to play around, to see what looks the best, and will also have to determine which colour stays on the center strip, and what colour is the continuation? Right now I picture the center strip to be the crumb cake, and the rest to be in Pacific Point. Stay tuned……..
