Stampin Up Brightly Lit ChristmasPeople often look at cards and say, “I could never do that”. Almost every single time I disagree. Maybe you don’t want to because you’re not a crafty person, but if you like to make crafts anyone can do this. While to me all cards are easy, some just take more steps. This is one of those cards. Nothing hard about it all, just a few extra steps.

  1. Fold a piece of 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ Real Red Cardstock in half
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 5-1/4″ x 4″ (you will use this piece to add brick work)
  3. Cut another piece of Whisper White Cardstock 4″ x 2″ (this will be the piece you use to make snow)
  4. Choose which greeting you want and stamp onto Whisper White Cardstock, using Real Red Ink from the Brightly Lit Christmas Stamp Set.
  5. Use your Big Shot and the Christmas Lampost Thinlits dies to cut out:
    1. lamp posts using Basic Black Cardstock
    2. lamps using Basic Black Cardstock
    3. ornamental sign topper using Basic Black Cardstock
    4. luminated lights using Daffodil Delight Cardstock
    5. co-ordinating die to cut out your greeting
    6. Add Real Red re-inker to some Embossing Paste, and mix well.
    7. Use the brick pattern from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks, and lay over top of your previously cut 5-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White Cardstock. Use any palette knife that you like to work with, and spread the red embossing paste over top of the brick work, until your sheet is covered. Gently lift the mask off the white cardstock. Clean your mask, and palette knife, or put into a tray of warm water until you are ready to clean.
    8. While the embossing paste is drying (only takes a few minutes) take your 4″ x 2″ whisper white cardstock, and starting at one side, tear to the other side, adding a little bit of hills and valleys. (makes it look more like a snow bank)
    9. Next use glue and add dazzling diamonds to the entire snowbank. (An alternative would be to use Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.
    10. Now piece your card together.
      1. Add the whisper white with the brick work to the front of your folded card.
      2. Add the daffodil yellow “lights” to the back of the lampposts
      3. Adhere the snow bank to bottom of your card
      4. Add the lamp post to front of your card
      5. Add the ornamental sign holder to front of your card
      6. Attach the sign using dimensionals under the sign holder.

Now see, there was nothing hard about that was there? And are you not happy with the results? Now you want to play with that embossing paste even more now right? ME TOO !!! Stay tuned, we will for sure.
